Maston

The Maston Allotment: still under review by the BLM this area has historic mtn biking use, but is just now getting wider attention due to the BLM’s Cline Butte Recreation Plan which includes the Maston. The riding is through flat to rolling Juniper forest, with views including all of Central Oregon’s peaks. The trails are mostly old water canals built back in the early 1900’s these provide for mostly singletrack riding that is perfect for early season fitness or training rides.

Official trail markings do not exist yet. Plan on a primitive experience and bring your sense of adventure (wouldn’t hurt to bring a GPS and/or a compass as well).

Directions to Maston

General Directions: from Bend to Maston – drive to the town of Tumalo, follow Cline Falls Hwy for 4.4 miles, turn right on Newcomb Rd, park on left approx. 1/2 mile down Newcomb. Look for small circular pull through parking area on left. Get your bike out and start exploring.
