Horse Ridge

Trail Details

Season: winter, spring
Distance: 10-15 mile loop options
Hazards: rocks

This is Central Oregon’s winter riding spot. Great desert riding, junipers, rocks, and wide open views.  This area has some of our rockiest trails so be ready for some challenge. Brutally sandy out of season.

Take a look at the map before you head out; there are private tracts of land on the South side of the highway.  The North side of the highway is a Wilderness Area and closed to Mountain biking.

Directions to Horse Ridge:

From Bend head east on Highway 20 for 15 miles (from SE 27th Street in Bend) to Horse Ridge Frontage Road.  Turn right.  The turn is immediately before the highway begins climbing a long hill.  Once on the frontage road proceed approximately 0.7 mile west northwest.  Look for the new BLM trailhead on the left (south) side of the road.  Get your bike out and follow trails!
